Crayon with bbPress

I’ve added bbPress support into Crayon since 1.11. Make sure you enable the setting “Display the Tag Editor in any TinyMCE instances on the frontend”, which is off by default from v1.15 to reduce the number of needed resources. This is needed to display the Tag Editor for any other frontend TinyMCE editors you may have (including but not limited to those in bbPress).

I’d appreciate any bug testing (and fixing?!) from people who use bbPress, since I’ve made a lot of changes to the Tag Editor javascript in this beta hopefully everything works as smoothly.

Just submitted a bug report in the forum. I suspect it’s caused by the new bbPress features.

I recommended this plugin on bbpress.org:

Ehm, weirdness happened when I tried to edit my first reply… Anyways, was just letting you know that I submitted a bug report on the forum most likely relating to the new bbPress features.

I’m testing Crayon with bbPress 2.2.3 and it works great.

    Excellent plugin, well done!

Right now though the option “Display Tag Editor settings on the frontend” does not seem to work – checked or unchecked the options remain visible … :-(

I would rather not see the options in the frontend (or am I misunderstanding the purpose of this option?). To remain consistent I wouldn’t use it myself (as the one writing posts), and my visiters wouldn’t know what to do with it either (the ones writing comments and/or forum posts).

I ended up fixing it again : It’s compatible with 2.2.4 and should work great from now on.

I’m trying to use Crayon in tinyMCE on the fronted for the comments section. Fancybox seems to kick in and I see a lot of Crayon related code/css in the source. However, only when a user is NOT logged in, I’m getting the message

“The requested content cannot be loaded.
    Please try again later.”

p.s. Crayon works great in combination with comments and bbPress 2.2.3 when a user is logged.

Thanks, I discovered and fixed a bug which might have been the cause of it. Make sure to enable the setting to display TinyMCE and download the latest github beta: https://github.com/aramkocharyan/crayon-syntax-highlighter/archive/master.zip

Thanks for your wonderful plugin. I have tested it on WordPress and bbpress. I have a suggestion about your tool on both wordpress and bbpress. I know that I can chose to hide crayon setting in bbpress front-end and wordpress editor. But why you are not allowing to hide ‘Inline’ and ‘Dontt Highlight’ setting to control from crayon setting page. This fileds too must be included in crayon setting. Other wise from bbpress frond-end, a user have the power to highlight the code and make it inline. It will affect the beauty and style of a website. Some bbpress user will use ‘Dont Highligt code’ and some other might ‘Highlight code’. And also one user can make it inline and others can make it not inline. So in my point of view is that, there must be a way in crayon main setting page to hide or show from bbpress frond-end and wordpress text editor.
